Coming up next in my Expanded Dance Space program:

CiCi Blumstein is bringing her interactive installation The Measuring Room, to the South East Dance offices this week. Curated as part of CiCi’s Movement 12 month Expanded Dance Space & the private choreography of public space, she will invite audiences to reassess their relationship to space through the introduction of rules and boundaries. The Measuring Room utilizes a simple urban planning rule, the Floor Area Ratio, within the clearly defined space of a large measuring triangle.

Visitors will be invited to play within this confined and exact space whilst engaging with the rules of its construction. The more they play and physically negotiate/inhabit this triangular space, the more expanded dance space they will be able to take away with them, to use as they wish.

The public opening will take place on Wednesday 13 July, where you can drop in between 6:30-8:30pm. Alternatively you can book a slot to visit the installation on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 July from 12:30-5pm. Contact cici@ciciblumstein.com

All entry is free, so please come and get involved.
